Jessie Marquez with Clay Giberson
Latin songstress Jessie Marquez and pianist Clay Giberson blend Cuban, Brazilian, jazz and pop sounds for music with lush harmonies and cool grooves. In 2010, the two collaborated on the CD, All I See is Sky (Todo lo que veo es cielo) which featured a textured soundscape alongside the singer’s intimate and understated approach. Marquez’s musical sensibility was cultivated through on-the-job training in Havana where she frequently performed over a ten-year period. Clay Giberson has released four recordings on the premier jazz label Origin Records and seven others with his Portland-based groups Upper Left Trio, Go By Train and Duo Chronicles.
