Louis Pain
Louis Pain, dubbed “Portland’s boss of the B-3″ by The Oregonian, has led the local resurgence of the soul-jazz organ sound, playing with Mel Brown’s B-3 Organ Group at Jimmy Mak’s for over sixteen years. Louis’ trio also features the saxophonist from that group, Renato Caranto, who tours with Grammy-winner Esperanza Spalding. On drums is Micah Kassell, who has worked with Dan Balmer & Curtis Salgado. This group personifies groove, soul, and spontaneity!
