The PDX Jazz All Star Pandemic Big Band includes players from the best PDX Big Bands over the years. They’ll be performing classic arrangements as well as representative charts from the many Portland Big Bands over the years such as the Carlton Jackson/Dave Mills Big Band, Art Abrams Big Band, Portland Jazz Orchestra, Lily Wilde Orchestra, Re-Birthing the Cool, The Woody Hite Big Band, Andrew Durkin’s Industrial Jazz Group, Ezra Weiss Big Band, and Jessie Smith Big Band.
Lars Campbell, co-founder of Portland Jazz Orchestra will direct the PDX Jazz All Star Big Band in this special night of music. The band line up is still being solidified, but will include Portland’s best jazz players, many of who are alumni of PSU, Mt. Hood Community College, and Clackamas Community College.
