Born and reared in New Orleans, the cradle of jazz, Devin Phillips’ intense affair with the saxophone began at the age of eight. At 14, he was accepted into the prestigious New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, whose alumni include Wynton and Branford Marsalis, Harry Connick, Jr. and Nicholas Payton. There, trained in music theory and multi-styles composition, he graduated in 2000 with top honors. Performing, touring and recording with top jazz artists, such as Wynton Marsalis, Eddie Palmieri, The Headhunters, the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, musician Lenny Kravitz, and Los Hombres Caliente (with whom he recorded two award-winning albums) soon followed. Born in 2001 in Hackensack, NJ, Matthew Whitaker grew up surrounded by music. His love for playing music first began at the young age of 3, after his grandfather gave him a small Yamaha keyboard. At 9, Matthew began teaching himself how to play the Hammond B3 organ. Four years later, he became the youngest artist to be endorsed by Hammond in its 80+ year history. He was also named a Yamaha Artist at 15, becoming the youngest musician to join the stellar group of jazz pianists. Matthew has had years of music instruction, currently studying classical piano and drums at The Filomen M. D’Agostino Greenberg Music School in NYC. It is the only community music school for the blind and visually impaired in the US.…

Soul Fingers is Bobby’s latest recording with his new organ group, the Bobby Broom Organi-Sation, which was the opening act on one of Steely Dan’s recent North American tours. The new recording was produced by Steve Jordan (Keith Richards, John Mayer, Buddy Guy). The record will be released October 12 through MRI/The Orchard. Bobby who lives in Chicago, has worked with Kenny Burrell, Stanley Turrentine, Charles Earland, Miles Davis, Kenny Garrett and Dr. John, among others over the past 20 years. Bobby last appeared in Portland nearly a decade ago at the famed Jimmy Mak’s.

The internationally recognized saxophonist-composer-bandleader, Eli Degibri, possesses many gifts as a musician. He boasts a seemingly bottomless fount of artistry as a composer and a band leader, and is a recipient of the honorary Israeli “Prime Minister Award for Jazz Composition”, recognizing his great talent as a melodic composer, and the “Landau Award for Jazz Performance”, recognizing his achievement as a remarkable band leader. Known for his charismatic performances, Degibri has recorded and performed extensively since the mid 1990s.
